Statement
I create sculptural forms and functional vessels in glass that explore the mystery and wonder I find in everyday life. My kiln-forming processes and color layering techniques create intimate formations and surfaces that simulate growth and decay. I choose glass color combinations for their reactive properties when fired together in a kiln. These combinations add layers of unpredictability in the making process. My pieces are small in scale in order to draw in the viewer’s gaze. Upon closer inspection, their nuanced forms reveal life’s delicate vitality, capturing and evoking a sense of wonder in the ever-flowing cycle of life and death.
