Anne Johnstone
My work is the result of a lot of standing in front of the blank canvas/paper with an “I-don’t-know mind”. The tools I use for painting are brush, palette knife, stencil, sponge, and razor blade, for oil pastel I use the color stick and a palette knife. Mark-making interests me most, building image out of the poetry of unleashed energy. Recently, I participated in a two-person show at the Aidron Duckworth Art Museum in Meridian NH. I continue to explore ways to unleash and express my energy and sensitivity on the picture plane.
